What it involves
A full-arch implant restoration replaces an entire upper or lower set of teeth with a fixed bridge supported by a small number of strategically placed implants. Many patients know this approach as “All-on-4” or “All-on-X.”
Treatment begins with a detailed evaluation, including 3D imaging and digital planning, so implant positions are designed around both your anatomy and the final smile. In many cases, any remaining failing teeth are removed, the implants are placed, and a fixed provisional set of teeth is attached the same day. A final, stronger prosthesis is made once healing is complete.
Who it's for
- Patients with multiple failing, loose, or broken teeth
- Denture wearers who struggle with fit, comfort, or chewing
- People who want a fixed, non-removable solution for an entire arch
- Patients whose bone volume allows conventional implant placement (others may be candidates for remote anchorage)
Recovery basics
- Expect swelling and soreness for the first several days; prescribed and over-the-counter medications keep most patients comfortable.
- A soft, no-chew diet is important for roughly the first two to three months while the implants integrate.
- Most patients return to work within about a week.
- The final prosthesis is typically delivered several months after surgery, following a healing check and new impressions or scans.
